The spokesperson and councilor of the Socialist Group in the Yaiza City Council, Carmen Guadalupe, has accused the Government of the Canary Islands of "mistreating" the municipality with the delay in the start-up of the classrooms for zero to three-year-olds.
The socialist councilor has lamented that the Government of the Canary Islands "does not prioritize the opening of a resource so necessary for the families of the municipality."
Thus, Guadalupe has stated that "the first quarter of the school year has passed, and although we see that other classrooms are opening in Lanzarote and in the Archipelago, Yaiza continues to be at the bottom, despite the fact that the works that are pending are minor conditioning issues."
To this absence of these places, the councilor has highlighted that we must add "the problems faced by families due to the scarcity of other public educational alternatives for children in that age range, which makes family reconciliation difficult."
"Sometimes we get the feeling that the residents of Yaiza are paying a price because Coalición Canaria and the Partido Popular do not govern in the municipality," continued Guadalupe, who concluded by urging the Minister of Education of the Government of the Canary Islands, Poli Suárez, to fulfill his responsibility and be more diligent in supervising the works so that there are no more delays and give the municipality of Yaiza the priority it deserves.
