The Socialist Parliamentary Group brings to the Plenary Session of the Parliament of the Canary Islands this Tuesday the 10th and Wednesday the 11th various initiatives, among which are the situation of the medical strike called by health professionals on the islands, the power outages that occurred recently in Lanzarote, La Graciosa and La Palma, and the network of nursery schools.

The Socialist Group will ask the Presidency of the Government how much longer it intends to remain on the sidelines of the medical strike in the Canary Islands and when it will personally assume dialogue with the medical unions to reach an agreement that puts an end to a strike that is seriously harming thousands of patients and their families.

The vice-president and minister of Economy, Industry, Commerce and Self-Employed will also be asked if his decisions are compatible with the general interest of the Canary Islands.

For its part, the Ministry of Ecological Transition will be asked for its assessment of the blackout suffered in Lanzarote and La Graciosa on October 3rd, and for the power outage that occurred in La Palma on November 2nd and the measures considered necessary to prevent similar episodes from recurring.

Another question is also submitted to the Ministry of Social Welfare for its assessment of the diligence with which it has acted and the sufficiency of the explanations offered regarding the complaints of alleged mistreatment of minors in the centers dependent on its ministry.

Another question will be addressed to the Ministry of Public Works to know the budget allocated to the Youth Rental Bonus.

In addition, a question is submitted to the Ministry of Health as to whether it considers it acceptable that mortality in the emergency room of the University Hospital of the Canary Islands increased by 20% in 2025, reaching the unsustainable death rate of 0.85%, very far from other hospital centers, without the hospital's Mortality Commission even having met to evaluate this situation.

For its part, the Socialist Group presents an interpellation addressed to the Ministry of Health on the situation of Nursing staff in the Canary Islands Health Service (SCS).

Likewise, a motion is presented to the Minister of Social Welfare, Equality, Youth, Childhood and Families regarding the purposes and objectives of the Government's action to negotiate, with the participation of the works councils of the Ministry of Social Welfare, the transfer to the Ministry of Education of the entire network of nursery schools, including personnel.

Furthermore, another motion is presented to the latter Ministry regarding the objectives and purposes that the Government of the Canary Islands sets for itself in the face of the current precarious situation experienced by young people in the Canary Islands.

The Socialist Group will also explain in the debate on the Bill of the Canary Islands Budgets for 2027 the amendment in its entirety announced this week, as well as its position in the debate on the new Canary Islands Land Law.
