The PSOE accuses CC of despising the population of Playa Honda with its preferential treatment of municipalities of its political color

The PSOE considers the Ministry of Health's investment for the expansion of the Tinajo and Costa Teguise clinics scandalous, while maintaining its refusal for the Playa Honda one.

The PSOE of San Bartolomé laments the "disdain" of Coalición Canaria (CC) for the population of Playa Honda with its "favorable treatment" of municipalities of its political color. The secretary of the Local Group, Raúl de León, considers it "unacceptable" that the Ministry of Health sees it as a priority and necessary to invest in the expansion of the health centers of Tinajo and Costa Teguise while maintaining its blockade of the new health center in Playa Honda.

In this regard, De León emphasizes San Bartolomé's support for any health resource that improves the quality of life of the citizens of Lanzarote, "regardless of the municipality," but rejects the "evident sectarianism of Coalición Canaria, which turns healthcare into an electoral weapon and a tool for political and social confrontation."

For his part, Isidro Pérez, mayor of San Bartolomé, recalls the historical struggle that the citizens of Playa Honda have maintained to achieve a health center in line with the current needs of this population center. "The recent collection of signatures, with thousands of supporters, only confirms that we are facing a neighborhood demand that CC prefers to ignore, despite it being a need, an emergency."

Pérez emphasizes that the municipality has made all facilities available to the Government of the Canary Islands to move forward with a project that, as he points out, has land ceded by the City Council, a technical project drafted, and the necessary urban planning modifications for it. "The only thing missing is the political will to do it," he maintains.

"If Coalición Canaria's electoral campaign is going to consist, from now until May 2027, of continuing to favor the municipalities where it governs and mistreating those managed by the PSOE, we tell them from this moment on that in San Bartolomé they will find a containment wall. We will not remain silent nor will we yield; quite the contrary. We will continue to defend what is good for our municipality and what it deserves," he assures.
