The Local Committee of the Popular Party in Tinajo values "positively" the decision of the Security and Emergency Consortium of Lanzarote, to be present during the celebration of sports meetings in the wrestling ground of the municipality.
Ramón Ortiz, spokesman for the Populars in the municipality, has insisted in recent weeks on "the need to maintain that emergency service" whenever "events of this type are held, given the risks that this sports modality may entail for the fighters".
In this week's match, between the 'Club Lucha Tinajo' and the 'Unión Sur Yaiza' team, the 'Emerlan' operation was at all times at the foot of the arena, as could be seen by the attendees, who commented on "how right" the decision was.
A few weeks ago, a serious incident occurred when the fighter Santi Cazorla fell lying on the sand and was waiting for an ambulance for almost half an hour, which caused great alarm among the attendees, the team managers and the rest of the fighters.
Ortiz stressed that this repeated demand from the local PP group in Tinajo "has finally taken hold and hopes it will continue" also in all sporting events with high public attendance, adding that his political formation will continue to demand also the permanent ambulance service for the municipality.
In this sense, Ramón Ortiz points out that he "will not cease in that effort until he achieves this fundamental demand", "because the lives of the residents of the municipality are at stake in a moment of gravity", he concludes.
