The Parliament of the Canary Islands has inaugurated today two restrooms adapted for ostomized people, one for gentlemen and one for ladies, located in the antechamber of the Cabildos Hall to facilitate their use by visitors.
The President of the Parliament, Astrid Pérez, highlighted that this action represents "a new step in the commitment made at the beginning of the legislature to make the Parliament a fully accessible space for everyone".
The new restrooms have been designed with the advice of the Federation of Associations of Ostomized People of Spain (FAPOE), incorporating the necessary conditions and equipment to respond to the needs of this group.
