The Ministry of Education and Universities of the Government of the Canary Islands is preparing the resolution, which will be published in the coming days, with the details of the selective tests that will allow covering 1,160 places of 33 different specialties, as reported by the regional Executive. It will specify the headquarters of the 128 courts that have been constituted to examine the 11,007 teachers who have applied, although a total of 13,030 applications have been counted as the same person can be examined in several specialties, and the days in which they must appear.
Thus, the Secondary School teachers will have the presentation on Saturday, June 23, in the morning and will be examined the next day, Sunday, June 24, also in the morning.
The tests for the specialties of Vocational Training will also be held that weekend, although in the afternoon, and will be distributed as in Secondary Education, with the presentation on the 23rd and the tests on Sunday the 24th.
This, with the exception of the specialties of Music, in Secondary Education, and those of Manufacture and installation of carpentry and furniture and of Techniques and procedures of image and sound, in Vocational Training, which, due to their singularity, will have the presentation on Monday, June 25, in the morning, and the tests in the afternoon of the same day. The same will happen with the people who compete for the Official Language Schools, who will complete the presentation and tests that same Monday.
Island courts for the first time
As a novelty with respect to previous calls, the Government of the Canary Islands points out that this year there will finally be two island courts: one of English of Secondary in Lanzarote and another of Mathematics in Fuerteventura.
In the 13,030 applications submitted, Educational Guidance is the most demanded specialty with 1,285 applications, while Machining and Maintenance of Machines is the least, with 25 applications. The exam dates, as well as the presentation and distribution of the courts, will become official at the time of publication in the Official Gazette of the Canary Islands in the coming days.
