The Ministry of Transport keeps the National Maritime Plan in force on the coast of Lanzarote due to the spill caused by the Moroccan fishing vessel that ran aground and burned near Órzola, but has lowered it one degree: it has deactivated the emergency phase, to simply move to alert.

As reported to EFE by the Maritime Authority of Las Palmas, the decision was made in view of the favorable evolution of the situation, after verifying that the presence of diesel from the fishing vessel in the sea is barely noticeable

The fishing vessel ran aground in the early hours of Wednesday on the coast of Haría, near the town of Órzola. It is estimated that it had left Morocco with about 5,500 liters of diesel, but a good part of the fuel that remained in its tanks burned when it caught fire.
