The Tías Town Council has launched a shock plan to remove waste and clean up plots and public roads with accumulations of rubble and waste that have been deposited irregularly.

Thus, the council asks citizens for “civic responsibility and the proper use of containers or the clean point.”

The operation has consisted of the action and maintenance of the public road and municipal plots with the cleaning of the surroundings of the containerization points, which presented high amounts of rubble and construction waste.

For this, the coordination of the personnel of the Roads and Works area of the City Council and the personnel of FCC, the company that has been granted the cleaning service, has been counted on, in addition to the mechanical means, which have carried out the cleaning and removal of rubble for its correct treatment and processing.

According to information provided by Vías y Obras, only in this recent action campaign, which has been carried out during the last 20 days, about 120 tons of rubble have been collected from public roads, 38 tons of pruning remains, 16 tons of metals such as refrigerators or irons and 7 tons of wood.

The mayor of Tías, José Juan Cruz, states that “each citizen must properly manage the waste they generate. We are all responsible for keeping our territory clean and we are all involved in the task of avoiding the improper abandonment of our garbage, from a cigarette butt to a can or rubble.”

In this line, the Councilor for Waste and Road Cleaning, Carmen Gloria Rodríguez, recalls that the municipality has a clean point where to deposit this rubble and appeals to the civic-mindedness of citizens to continue maintaining a clean municipality, with a good image and respectful of the environment.
