Agents of the Local Police of Yaiza removed 82 electric scooters located at different points in the tourist town of Playa Blanca, proceeding also to their deposit in municipal facilities, upon verifying that these personal mobility vehicles (VMP), intended for rent through a shared system, lack enabling administrative authorization for the exercise of said lucrative activity in Yaiza.

The City Council opened a file and the responsible company, already identified, faces a sanction for operating without authorization, understanding that the facts breach the ordinance regulating the use of personal mobility vehicles approved by the City Council in 2024.

The Local Police of Yaiza removed the scooters between May 9 and 13 after detecting their presence on public roads in Playa Blanca. The company cannot retrieve its 82 deposited vehicles until the resolution of the corresponding administrative file, as was duly informed to the person who stated to be the company's representative.

The mayor of Yaiza, Óscar Noda, and the chief officer of the Local Police, Vladimir Guadalupe, thank the diligence of the intervening southern agents.
