The Governing Council of the Cabildo of Lanzarote approved, in the session held this Monday, the final awards of two more competitive grants.

In this case, final approval has been given to the subsidies for sporting events held in Lanzarote and La Graciosa, for an amount of 1,115,556.19 euros across both lines; and the organization of sports schools on both islands for a sum amounting to 433,999.83 euros.

The president of the Cabildo of Lanzarote, Oswaldo Betancort, pointed out that "the final approval of these two calls will allow clubs, entities, and athletes from Lanzarote and La Graciosa to guarantee the planning and development of sports events and the operation of sports schools during the season".

For his part, the Minister of Physical Activity and Sports of the Cabildo of Lanzarote, Juan Monzón, asserted that these subsidies "endorse the organization of multiple sports activities and events on our islands." "We are following the established calendar for awarding the different competitive grant lines, also setting ourselves the goal of working on the subsidies for this season," he added.

With this approval, four lines have now been definitively awarded, following the green light given for those related to the promotion of indigenous sports; and the one concerning the expenses for organizing official competitions.
