The president of the Board of Directors of the Lanzarote Foreign Promotion Society, Oswaldo Betancort, summoned the members of the aforementioned council this past Monday to accept the positions appointed in the General Board session of October 17, as well as for the presentation and approval of the proposal of the new Regulations of the Executive Committee and the appointment of its members.
During the session, the new proposal of the regulations was approved by majority, which translates into providing greater diversity and plurality to the most operational body of SPEL-Turismo Lanzarote, which will now be represented by the City Council of Tías and Teguise, representing the rest of the municipalities, and also by Asolan (Island Association of Hotel and Apartment Businessmen of Lanzarote) and Chamber of Commerce of Lanzarote and La Graciosa, as representatives of the business sector.
In this sense, the president of the Cabildo of Lanzarote and Minister of Tourism, Oswaldo Betancort, celebrated the approval of this new regulation of the Executive Committee and, therefore, the expansion of the public and private representation of the Board of Directors of the Foreign Promotion Society of the island.
“This fulfills the intention of the new Government group to increase the conformity and consent of all parties in one of the most operational bodies of Turismo Lanzarote”, added the president of the Cabildo and also Minister of Tourism, Oswaldo Betancort.
For his part, the CEO of the same, Héctor Fernández, clarified that this step will mean greater consensus and also increase the frequency of the council sessions and thus its operability.
