Includes two lines of aid for annual scholarships and travel

Governing Council of the Cabildo of Lanzarote

The Lanzarote Council, through the Education Area led by Councilor Ascensión Toledo, has published this Wednesday in the Official Gazette of the Province of Las Palmas the calls for two strategic lines of aid aimed at students from Lanzarote and La Graciosa for the 2024/2025 academic year. The Island Institution, chaired by Oswaldo Betancort, is allocating a total of 1,000,000 euros to these scholarships and travel grants, in which the individual amounts of some of the modalities have been increased.

The application period for annual scholarships will remain open for one month (from March 13 to April 14), while travel grants can be requested for 15 business days (from March 13 to April 2)

President Oswaldo Betancort has highlighted the investment effort of the Institution "since these scholarships represent fundamental support for our students, facilitating access to higher education and helping families to meet academic expenses."

According to the Councilor for Education, Ascensión Toledo, the objective of the Council is to "strengthen its commitment to families and ensure that no student from Lanzarote and La Graciosa has their access to higher education limited for economic or geographical reasons."

The Scholarships for Official Studies of the Lanzarote Council will have an allocation of 700,000 euros to support students based on their socioeconomic circumstances and academic performance.

This call includes various modalities: 151 scholarships for University Degree Studies and Higher Artistic Studies (2,200 euros each, total 332,000 euros); 15 scholarships for Official Master's studies (1,150 euros each, total 17,250 euros); 25 scholarships for Higher Professional Training Studies (1,150 euros each, total 28,750 euros); 20 complementary scholarships for student mobility programs (700 euros each, total 14,000 euros); and 281 complementary scholarships for accommodation (1,000 euros each, total 281,000 euros).

Likewise, scholarships are also announced for non-presential and presencial official studies on the island: 15 scholarships for University Degree Studies (720 euros each, total 10,800 euros); 10 scholarships for Official Master's studies (900 euros each, total 9,000 euros); 10 complementary scholarships for mobility programs (700 euros each, total 7,000 euros).
