The insular director of the General Administration of the State in Lanzarote, Pedro Viera, received at the headquarters of the Insular Directorate the new head of the Traffic Detachment of Arrecife of the Civil Guard, Lieutenant David Gómez-Arevalillo González, who assumed this responsibility last September 16. The lieutenant was accompanied during the meeting by the Civil Guard commander Antonio José Teruel.
During the meeting, they addressed the main issues related to road safety and mobility in Lanzarote, as well as the importance of maintaining permanent coordination to continue improving the prevention of road accidents and the attention to road users on the island.
Pedro Viera conveyed to the new head of Traffic his willingness to maintain close and fluid collaboration during this new stage and highlighted the work carried out daily by the Traffic Group of the Civil Guard in Lanzarote.
For his part, Lieutenant Gómez-Arevalillo expressed his commitment to continue working to reduce road accidents, improve road safety, and provide a close and effective service to the citizens.
Experience in the Civil Guard
David Gómez-Arevalillo joined the Civil Guard in 2009 and has developed his professional career in different destinations and units, including areas of Citizen Security, Judicial Police, and, especially, the Traffic Group.
Before joining Lanzarote, he performed duties in the Command Secretariat of the Traffic Group. Since last September 16, he has taken command of the Arrecife Traffic Detachment, from where he faces this new stage with the aim of putting his experience at the service of road safety on the island.
The Insular Directorate highlights the importance of coordination between the different administrations and services linked to road safety to advance in accident prevention and the protection of all road users.
The meeting represents a first institutional contact with the new head of the Arrecife Traffic Detachment and reaffirms the will to maintain permanent cooperation for the benefit of Lanzarote's road safety.
