The Government finances the reinforcement of disability assessment teams in Lanzarote

Social Welfare will sign an agreement with the Cabildo of Lanzarote by which it will contribute 181,000 euros to the island institution

The Government of the Canary Islands, meeting in the Governing Council, has authorized the signing of an agreement by which the Ministry of Social Welfare, Equality, Youth, Children and Families entrusts the Island Council of Lanzarote with the management of the preparation of psychological and social reports that serve as the basis for the opinion of the recognition of the degree of disability, for an amount of 181,305.51 euros, which will allow the hiring of two social workers and a psychologist.

Through this agreement, and the financial contribution of the Ministry, the Cabildo of Lanzarote will be responsible for drafting those technical reports for official protection housing, access and adaptation to jobs and access to aid plans from municipalities, as well as any other that corresponds to be issued by the multi-professional teams for qualification and recognition of the degree of disability. This work will be carried out in coordination with the multi-professional teams of the Disability Assessment Center of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, a center dependent on the General Directorate of Disability of the Ministry of Social Welfare, Equality, Youth, Children and Families.
