"The first action as senator will be to meet with the Cabildo to bring the investments that guarantee the production and supply of water"

The PP's candidate for the Senate assures that his work will be marked by permanent coordination with the first island institution and the island's town halls in order to set a common agenda in Madrid.

Meeting of the Senate and Congress candidates with the councilors of the Popular Party in the Cabildo of Lanzarote

The Popular Party's candidate for the Senate for Lanzarote, Jeziel Martín, assures that one of the most serious problems currently facing Lanzarote and the island of La Graciosa is that of water, since the treatment plants are obsolete and the distribution network loses almost 57% of all the desalinated water produced on the island.

The Popular Party candidate states that "it is urgent to undertake the renovation and implementation of our hydraulic infrastructures, a plan that requires a million-dollar investment and the budgetary involvement of both the Government of the Canary Islands and the Government of the State."

Jeziel Martín has announced that the first action he will take if elected senator will be to hold a meeting with the government of Cabildo "to begin working closely and in a coordinated manner, and obtain from Madrid the necessary economic aid to carry out the modernization of the drinking water production systems and the distribution network."

"Currently Lanzarote has the imperative need to undertake strong investments in hydraulic infrastructures and, very especially, in those that guarantee the volume of drinking water production demanded by the resident population of the island, as well as the tourism sector, the mainstay of our economy, and the primary sector, which is making so many efforts to survive."

This has been one of the issues addressed by Jeziel Martín and the Lanzarote candidate on the Congress list, Lorena Martín, in a recent meeting with the Popular Party councillors in the government of the Cabildo of Lanzarote during which this problem and the need to join forces between the different administrations to find a quick solution were analyzed.

The candidates expressed their firm will to cooperate in everything necessary with the first island institution, highlighting Lorena Martín Feijóo's commitment to a great national pact for water that foresees an investment of 40,000 million euros in six years for hydraulic works. "Our objective is to ensure that Lanzarote and La Graciosa are within this pact and benefit from the financing we need to guarantee production and distribution to all subscribers," Martín defended.
