The far-right organization Hazte Oír has begun a new propaganda campaign against the President of the Government of Spain, Pedro Sánchez (PSOE), coinciding with the Spanish Prime Minister's holidays at the Official Residence of La Mareta, in Lanzarote.
This propaganda action already took place last summer, when the ultra-Catholic group Hazte Oír filled a beach in Costa Teguise and the Papagayo beach (Yaiza), a protected natural area, with umbrellas where it called the Spanish president a "corrupt" person. That initiative earned criticism from part of the citizenry because several beach umbrellas ended up in the sea. It also received a sanctioning file from the Ministry of Environment for sticking stickers on the signage of a protected natural space.
On this occasion, the ultra organization has brought two large-scale representations to the beaches of the capital with photographs of Pedro Sánchez and his wife Begoña Gómez. On these posters, the message "criminals" can be read, along with the text "Spain's borders, insecure. Your holidays protected." This action, which began at Lanzarote Airport, also included a representation of the former Spanish president José Luis Rodríguez Zapatero.
In the text shared on social networks, Hazte Oír has also accompanied the photographs with the following message: "Does Sánchez and Bego intend to have a quiet holiday in Lanzarote? Well, it's not going to happen. What awaits them," they have threatened. The organization has also vandalized the facade of the PSOE of Lanzarote in Arrecife, on which it has stuck various stickers with messages such as "criminals." The action has also been repeated in other spaces on the island, such as the Open Mall shopping center.
Hazte Oír has been responsible for other previous controversies, such as the transphobic campaign in which they paraded a bus throughout the national territory against trans people with the message: "Boys have penises. Girls have vulvas. Don't be fooled. If you are born a man, you are a man. If you are a woman, you will remain one."
In addition, the organization has also taken its battle against Pedro Sánchez to the courts. Among other cases, the ultra-Catholic association is leading the popular prosecution in the investigation by Judge Juan Carlos Peinado against Begoña Gómez.
