The MEP from Izquierda Unida Manu Pineda presented a question to the European Commission on June 12 about the construction of a highway on rustic land between Playa Honda and Arrecife. The reason is its possible impact on El Jable, a space included as a Special Protection Area for Birds (SPA).
Pineda asked what opinion the Commission has and what actions it will take to enforce European protection regulations in Lanzarote.
The aforementioned project deals with the execution of a road that aims to connect the César Manrique Airport and the Hospital. After a meeting with the Alcogida environmental group, the MEP made the decision to go to the European Parliament.
