The Canarian Government publishes the second provisional list of scholarships

The total amount associated with this resolution amounts to almost 800,000 euros, distributed among the different modalities provided for in the call, including aid linked to residence, transport, income, disability, and academic fees

The Ministry of Universities, Science and Innovation of the Government of the Canary Islands, headed by Migdalia Machín, has notified the second provisional proposal for the scholarship call corresponding to the 2025-2026 academic year, processed through the Directorate General of Universities and Research. This phase incorporates 1,350 applications into the ongoing procedureThe total amount associated with this resolution amounts to 775,363.08 euros, distributed among the different modalities provided for in the call, including aid linked to residence, transport, income, disability, and academic fees.This resolution is added to the first definitive resolution, notified and paid in December 2025, which allowed 3,800 applications to be resolved for an amount of 2,179,836.29 euros. With both phases, the Ministry has already processed 5,150 files, which represents 49.3% of the total applications received in this callMachín underlines that "the processing is advancing as planned, with orderly and guaranteed management". He adds that "behind each resolution there are students who can continue their training with greater stability, and that is the true social impact of this public policy".

In the entirety of the call for applications, 10,446 applications have been received, which reflects the scope of this line of public support for the islands' students. The excellence modality will be the subject of a separate resolution, in accordance with the provisions of the bases. Both provisional and definitive resolutions are notified to interested parties via electronic headquarters. Only the definitive ones will be announced in the Official Gazette of the Canary Islands (BOC) once the process is concluded.
