The Cabildo of Lanzarote, through the Island Sports Service, allocates 2.5 million euros to promote sports on the Island. In line with the Corporation's transparency, a conference has been held with representatives and entities of the sports sector to inform about the bases and procedures in sports subsidies for the 2023-2024 season in which around 100 people have participated.
The Area Councilor, Juan Monzón, highlights the need to provide the necessary resources so that athletes and clubs can develop to the highest level and demand. "These new subsidies promote grassroots sports and traditional Canarian games, ensuring that this discipline remains a pillar in the community of Lanzarote," he says.
These subsidies will be used for the promotion of sports clubs in Lanzarote, high-performance athletes, schools of interest, travel to competitions, events, organizational expenses, promotion of sports and organization of campuses and camps.
"From the Cabildo of Lanzarote we work to offer more dynamism and increase in island sports to obtain new opportunities and improve conditions," says Juan Monzón.
Eight regulatory bases for sports subsidies
Among the novelties for this 2023-2024 season, the modifications in some of the existing subsidies stand out, as well as the creation of new lines of support, such as those destined to cover organization and promotion expenses.
In addition, a period of 10 business days has been foreseen for the submission of applications from the official publication.
Interested sports entities and personnel can consult the complete bases and make their application through the electronic headquarters of the Cabildo of Lanzarote.
