The Cabildo of Lanzarote, through the area of Open Government, organizes citizen participation days in which human rights, equality, participation, sustainability and employment will be discussed. Under the name 'Lanzarote Participa', this meeting will take place on December 13 and 14 in the Assembly Hall of the first island corporation.

'Lanzarote Participa is a two-day meeting aimed at the main groups, associations and social agents, with the aim of promoting and implementing the culture of citizen participation from a strategic vision to review those issues and relevant issues that concern citizens and provide solutions and experiences that help improve the quality of life of the islanders', explains the councilor Jorge Peñas.

To this end, these days will structure open spaces for dialogue and exchange, with talks by experts on significant issues and the presentation of successful cases in participation processes carried out both in Lanzarote and in neighboring islands.

'Lanzarote Participa invites us to build a collective debate and draw a roadmap with concrete and creative solutions that look to the future, promoting, on the one hand, social transformation towards open and participatory governance and, on the other, co-creating a more sustainable island and better prepared for the challenges of today and tomorrow', adds Peñas
