The Department of Public Works of the Cabildo of Lanzarote has completed the lighting work on Fobos, the iconic wind toy of César Manrique.

“We were clear that, after the repair and installation that we carried out at the end of 2023, this toy should be illuminated at night and that in this way the work of César Manrique shines at night,” said the vice president, who went to the place to check the installation work of the luminaire.

The Public Works team of the Cabildo of Lanzarote has been in charge of carrying out the work to illuminate Fobos, carrying out different canalizations in the field to bring electricity to all the points of light.

“Now, we will enjoy a restored and illuminated Fobos, demonstrating the importance of the legacy of our teacher César Manrique,” added Medina.

On the other hand, it should be remembered that the Cabildo of Lanzarote continues to carry out the restoration plan of the windmills of Lanzarote, and recently the Arrieta toy was removed to carry out the rehabilitation work of this important mobile monument.
