The Cabildo of Lanzarote commits to finding an "imminent" solution to the sinkhole in Los Hervideros

The agency initiates the procedures to draft the project that will reopen the LZ-703 to the public

The Cabildo of Lanzarote visits the sinkhole of Los Hervideros

The Cabildo of Lanzarote has already initiated the procedures for drafting the project that will reopen the LZ-703 road to the public at the height of Los Hervideros, closed to traffic since February 2021 after the appearance of a sinkhole next to the road. This was announced in a press release.

“We are going to materialize what was promised, and the Cabildo of Lanzarote will work to eliminate as soon as possible this barrier suffered by the residents of the municipality of Yaiza and especially those who reside in the town of El Golfo”, says the president.

In this sense, Betancort stressed that the Corporation will undertake the “most imminent action offered by the Technical Office, so that the procedure for the reopening of the road is expedited as much as possible.”

On the other hand, the Councilor for Public Works of the Cabildo of Lanzarote, Jacobo Medina, has also shown his commitment to reopening the road to traffic “as soon as possible.”

In 2021, bureaucratic procedures and procedural impediments with the Coasts prevented it from being resolved quickly. However, according to a statement from the Cabildo, "it should be noted that from November of that year until today the file has not had the slightest movement, so with the arrival of the new Government we will get to work to shorten the deadlines as much as possible”, Medina concluded.
