The Cabildo launches a tender for drafting the project to restore the waterfall of Charco de San Ginés

The Cabildo of Lanzarote has launched a public tender for the drafting of the restoration project of the Charco de San Ginés waterfall. "Coinciding with the centenary of the birth of César Manrique, the first Corporation will recover this waterfall, conceived by the brilliant artist, which will be located specifically in the Morro de la Elvira, on the northern bank of the Charco de San Ginés", said the president of the Cabildo, María Dolores Corujo, who considers that "this original idea of Manrique will be another attraction for the island, enhancing the attractiveness of the area".

For his part, the Minister of Public Works, Jacobo Medina, stated that "with the restoration and commissioning of this waterfall, the urban environment of El Charco, one of the most beautiful and emblematic places in Arrecife, will be improved and embellished, while we recover an element of high aesthetic value".

The works to be carried out for the drafting of the project consist of the evaluation of the water flow necessary for the operation of the waterfall, the calculation of the hydraulic system, as well as the studies of the electrical system and the night lighting of the environment, in addition to the geotechnical study, among others.
