The president of the Cabildo, María Dolores Corujo, has reported on the distribution of the first 10,000 masks received within an acquisition of 100,000 units that will arrive over the next few days.
These first 10,000 masks have been distributed to supermarket staff, different NGOs, Civil Protection and Institution workers.
With regard to the protective screens, known as "visors", they have been destined for pharmacy staff, public transport company staff, NGOs whose work requires more personal proximity and construction workers. The president recalled that the protective screens, as in previous deliveries, have been provided by the Canary Islands Technological Institute (ITC).
"Day by day we improve our capacity to respond to this crisis and we are more able to protect our people, especially those who keep essential services such as transport, food or health and pharmaceutical services active," he said.
