The president of the Cabildo of Lanzarote, María Dolores Corujo, signed this Thursday with the mayor of the Haría City Council, Alfredo Villalba, the addendum to the extrajudicial agreement between both institutions to end the lawsuit of the Cueva de Los Verdes, which has a final judgment for three and a half years.
"With the addendum now approved, the amount to be collected by Haría is finally set, which until now had not been determined; conditions are set for the delivery to the City Council of the Casa del Cura, once it is restored; and a clear payment schedule is established that is not subject to the will of the Cabildo”, Corujo highlighted after the signing. “In this way,” added the president, “justice is done for the municipality of Haría.”
For his part, Alfredo Villalba was "satisfied and proud" for the people of Haría. “We have been faithful to our principles and commitment to our neighbors, resolving the eternal conflict of the Cave fills me with satisfaction since we have always worked for the benefit of the people, leaving behind our interests.”
The agreement involves the payment of 600,000 euros per year for four years; one million euros for ten years; and a final payment of 514,896.37 euros in the year 2034.
