"According to the municipal Intervention and Secretariat, which is managed by the same person, the City Council has received zero euros for the Cueva de Los Verdes agreement and there is no investment attributable to this agreement." This is what the Socialist Party made public this Monday, after the controversial Plenary session held last Saturday in the municipality, in which CC was left alone approving the steps to be followed after the legal report that warned of the harmfulness of that agreement signed with the Cabildo.
Although that report also indicated that the agreement did not even include compensation to the City Council, despite the right recognized by the La Cueva ruling, the mayor has continued to defend that in 2017 the Cabildo paid the Consistory 1,350,000 euros charged to the agreement for the exploitation of the Cueva de los Verdes and in 2018 750,000 euros, plus the acquisition and transfer of the Casa del Cura.
However, the socialist councilor Alfredo Villalba affirms that the comptroller herself denied these statements, since the possible investments of the Island Corporation in Haría cannot be attributed to an agreement that did not even contemplate an express compensation, nor had the necessary reports, nor does it have legal validity today.
"Acuña remains on a flight forward"
"Despite everything, despite the warnings from the opposition, despite the abstention of his government partner", both Somos Lanzarote and the municipal Platform of Haría, "and despite the absences of the rest of the parties as a sign of rejection, the mayor insisted on voting in Plenary the transfer of an incomplete file lacking legal validity for its homologation by the Canary Islands Advisory Council and the Court of Auditors", Villalba questioned.
In his opinion, "Acuña remains on a flight forward, with the sole objective of covering up the errors of the president, Pedro San Ginés, and Coalición Canaria, who want to sell to the people of Haría the investments of the Cabildo's collaboration with local corporations as the result of an agreement that is harmful to the interests of the northern territory".
