The Cabildo of Lanzarote has put out to tender the second phase of the renovation of the LZ-405 road that connects the towns of Teseguite and El Mojón, a project with a base tender budget of 183,205.99 euros (including IGIC), through the Canary Islands Development Fund managed by the Planning and Project Coordination area.

With this action on the rolling surface, the island corporation seeks to guarantee optimal conditions of road safety and fluidity for the numerous drivers who use this road of insular interest daily, eliminating the risks derived from the wear and tear of the pavement and substantially improving driving comfort.

Beyond the renovation of the asphalt, the project includes a set of significant technical actions to resolve structural deficiencies of the road, among which the elimination of the current road narrowings and the adaptation of the ditches to expand the useful circulation space stand out.

Likewise, the work will include the regularization of the surface, the repair of walls and retaining elements, the replacement of supply connections that are affected, and the installation of new horizontal and vertical signage.

Companies interested in this contract have until next July 8 at 09:00 AM to submit their proposals through the State Contracting Platform.

The president of the Cabildo of Lanzarote, Oswaldo Betancort, states that this improvement "is fundamental to guarantee the safety and comfort of our neighbors". "It is one more step in our commitment to modernize the infrastructure of our island to improve the quality of life of all the people of Lanzarote," he asserts.

The vice-president of the Cabildo of Lanzarote and head of the managing area, María Jesús Tovar, assures that this work "will completely culminate the rehabilitation of this road, so frequented by the residents of both towns". "We were clear that the use of the Canary Islands Development Fund aims to solve problems such as the condition of the surface of this road, after years of neglect and degradation due to the passage of time," she adds.
