The Cabildo of Lanzarote and La Graciosa has put out to tender the project for "Reinforcement of the pavement of Camino Hermanos Pinzones", a road that connects the end of the town of Caleta de Caballo and Soo.
The tender, published on the State Contracting Platform, has a budget amounting to 374,880.75 euros (IGIC included) and is part of the joint financing of the Canary Islands Development Fund (FDCAN), managed through the Planning and Project Coordination area headed by Vice President María Jesús Tovar.
This intervention responds to the urgent need to repair a road section fundamental for the connectivity of both municipalities, which currently presents advanced structural and superficial wear, as well as deficiencies in signage that compromised the road safety of drivers and pedestrians. The project includes milling and resurfacing with hot mix asphalt, comprehensive renewal of vertical and horizontal signage, and cleaning and conditioning of the road margins to ensure optimal rainwater drainage.
Companies interested in bidding for the contract have until August 13, 2026, at 10:00 AM to submit their offers on the State Contracting Platform. The works will have an execution period of one month from the signing of the site inspection report.
“We continue to fulfill our commitment to resurface and update the roads of Lanzarote, especially those secondary but vital routes for the connection between our towns,” assured the president of the Cabildo of Lanzarote and La Graciosa, Oswaldo Betancort, who also pointed out that the Hermanos Pinzones road “not only connects Caleta de Caballo with Soo, but also supports the daily passage of residents, workers, and athletes.”
For her part, the vice president of the Cabildo and head of the Planning and Project Coordination area, María Jesús Tovar, stressed that “we continue to coordinate and expedite public tenders so that money from cooperation and development funds has a direct and rapid impact on the quality of life of our people.” “Investing 374,000 euros in improving road infrastructure is continuing to bet on first-class public services, guaranteeing safer and more efficient roads for the entire island,” affirmed the vice president.
