The City Council, presided over by Óscar Noda, announced this Monday in the Official Journal of the European Union and on the Public Sector Contracting Platform the tender for the maintenance and cleaning service of gardens and green areas in the municipality, including tasks in urban parks, for an amount of 10 million euros and an execution period of 5 years. The mayor highlights "the investment effort to improve the conservation of our environment, a commitment of the municipal government to the citizens, the environment, and the aesthetics of our towns".
According to the announcement, companies interested in submitting bids can do so until Friday, January 16, 2026. The contract includes pruning and phytosanitary treatments of green areas, removal of spontaneous vegetation, and collection of fallen leaves, tree debris, and trash that reaches the areas subject to conservation. Furthermore, it also contemplates the installation and maintenance of irrigation where necessary, in accordance with the guidelines of the municipal technical services.
The Yaiza Councillor for Parks and Gardens, Rubén Arca, emphasizes that "our objective is a forceful action that endures and consolidates over time, addressing the needs of the municipality and its population and the growth in the number of spaces dedicated to leisure and recreation. In parks alone, we are developing an ambitious program of modernization and implementation, so complementary services must be in line with this momentum".
Green spaces subject to conservation and maintenance are urban parks, garden areas, squares and street trees, including roadside palm trees, planters, floral structures, medians, slopes, boulevards and roundabouts, and other municipal areas designated and equipped as green spaces.
The awarded company will be obliged to carry out, with its own material and human resources, the execution, inspection, review, monitoring, and control of all actions included in the contract, always under municipal supervision.
