The Teguise City Council is making progress in the execution of improvement works on educational and cultural infrastructures in different areas of the municipality. Specifically, work is being carried out on the renovation of metal carpentry at the CEIP Doctor Alfonso Spínola (Teguise), the CEIP César Manrique Cabrera (Tahíche) and at the premises of the Guanapay Folk Group, also in Teguise.
The mayoress of Teguise, Olivia Duque, highlighted the importance of this intervention, as "with them we are fulfilling the commitment acquired with the educational and neighborhood community." "These actions are already underway and will be completed before the start of the school calendar for the benefit of students, teachers and cultural groups."
Duque recalled that this improvement is part of a broader strategy of action in all the municipality's centers. "Our goal is for the eleven schools in Teguise to have safe, comfortable and adequate spaces for the development of educational activity," he added.
For his part, the Councilor for Works, Eugenio Robayna, explained that "this renovation was a priority, since many windows had structural deficiencies and insulation problems." "The action, which involves an investment of 271,765 euros, for the improvement of the functionality of the spaces and the energy efficiency of the buildings," he pointed out.
The Councilor for Education, Mar Boronat, thanked the management of the centers and the AMPAS for their involvement. "We continue working with active listening, prioritizing real needs. These works are the result of that constant coordination with the educational community," she concluded.
The works, financed through the Cooperation Plan of the Cabildo de Lanzarote, are in an advanced phase and are scheduled to be completed during the month of August.
