The Official Gazette of the Province of Las Palmas published last Friday the call for the bases for the granting of aid for the transport of students residing in the municipality of Teguise for the 2021-2022 school year.

The object of the aid will be air, sea or land transport (bus, metro, tram and taxi) carried out by Teguise students enrolled in the 21-22 academic year in the modalities of baccalaureate, training cycles and university studies that meet the requirements set out in these bases, which detail that only trips made for this purpose in the period from September 1 to August 30 of the school year for which the aid is called may be covered.

From this Monday, October 25, until December 22, the deadline to submit the application and apply for the different aids set in the municipal budget of each year will be open, which range between 150 and 500 euros per student, depending on the place where they study.

The mayor of Teguise, Oswaldo Betancort, has highlighted that "the subsidies to Education, in this case, the aid destined to our students, have been increasing in each exercise, despite the circumstances, to be able to respond to the maximum number of possible applicants".

A total of 250,000 euros is the item committed by Teguise for this purpose, with which it is expected to grant aid to at least 600 students, in order to "contribute to the travel expenses to other islands, other communities and even within the island of Lanzarote and La Graciosa".

The councilor of the area, Javier Díaz, recalls that "the bases for the correct completion of the required documentation are posted on the institutional website www.teguise.es and that it is requested to pay attention to the deadlines set so that no one who was".
