The Teguise City Council, through the Vehicle Fleet area, has launched the new fleet of vehicles for the Local Police and Civil Protection, with the aim of reinforcing and modernizing the means of transport of the municipality's security forces and guaranteeing a more agile and effective service for citizens.

The mayor of Teguise, Olivia Duque, said that "today our security forces are already patrolling and working with these new vehicles, which represents an important leap in their response capacity and in the quality of the service we provide. We want this improvement to be noticed on the street and for our neighbors to perceive a greater presence and efficiency in care."

For his part, the Councilor for the Vehicle Fleet, Eugenio Robayna, explained that "the fact that the vehicles are already operational is great news for the entire municipality. This means that the Local Police and Civil Protection now have modern and safe tools to carry out their work, which will result in a faster and more efficient service."

In this sense, the Councilor for Police, Ginés González, stressed that "with the incorporation of these new vehicles, the commitment I made to provide both the Teguise Local Police and Civil Protection with the updated tools they had been demanding for years is fulfilled. Now they have new vehicles, in addition to a multi-year contract for the progressive renewal of uniforms, which will be delivered continuously. Shooting practices and specific training for the body have also been resumed. Along with these material improvements, the staff has been reinforced, although, despite this increase, we are still working to expand it even further, with the aim of reaching the highest possible number of agents and thus guaranteeing optimal security for the entire municipality of Teguise."

Since their launch, the new cars have already begun to patrol the different areas of the municipality, improving the presence and capacity of action of the Local Police. For its part, the Civil Protection SUV has participated in the first preventive and logistical support interventions, especially in areas with difficult access, where its equipment is essential.

The incorporation includes five non-pluggable hybrid cars, category M, for the Local Police, as well as a category N SUV for Civil Protection, equipped with a complete rapid intervention fire extinguishing kit. These new units, in addition to responding to environmental sustainability criteria, have the latest advances in terms of safety, communication and energy efficiency.
