Teguise gives the green light to Lidl's licenses in Costa Teguise

The Local Government Board of Teguise approved Lidl's request last Friday for the construction of its new shopping center in Lanzarote.

The technical office has completed the municipal technical work to approve both the basic and execution project of the urbanization necessary to install the new store, as well as the details of the application for a major construction license that contemplates the execution and activity project for the retail establishment.

In this way, the City Council authorizes the start of works that "will diversify the commercial equipment of the municipality, offering new shopping alternatives to the residents of the Costa area."

In addition, the Local Government Board held this week has approved licenses related to five single-family homes and six new low-voltage connections for the supply of electricity in different locations of the new urbanization.

Rita Hernandez explained that in the same area where the new Lidl will be installed, the expansion of the Health Center has also been planned, as well as the construction of the new school, "so this area will have interesting and attractive facilities to increase the quality of life of our neighbors."

For her part, Mayor Olivia Duque states that "a few months ago, more than one million euros were reserved in remnants for the urbanization project of this area." She points out that "the government group has known for years that this plan is essential for the execution of the new CEO in Costa Teguise." "This measure was one of my priorities as the first mayor to be able to reinforce the commercial offer for residents and visitors. Thus, we will have competitive prices to lower the cost of the shopping basket," she clarifies.

Finally, Olivia Duque has valued "the work carried out by the municipal staff and the Department of Urban Planning and Technical Office, thanks to which the local economy and social actions in the Costa Teguise area have been boosted during the last years."
