Presentación Programa Navidad 2025 2026 (6)

The Teguise City Council has presented the 2025/2026 Christmas and Three Kings Program at the Santa Bárbara Castle, a broad and participatory proposal that covers all the towns in the municipality and the eighth island. The mayor, Olivia Duque, highlighted during the presentation that this program "is the result of the coordinated effort of numerous municipal departments, to whom I want to thank and congratulate for their tireless work in offering a unique Christmas in Teguise and La Graciosa. We have wanted to build festivities that respect our traditions, promote coexistence, and fill every corner of the municipality with life".

The Christmas calendar will offer a variety of cultural, musical, and family activities designed to strengthen community spirit, preserve traditions, and promote citizen participation. The program will begin on December 2nd with the official lighting of the Christmas decorations in Plaza de los Leones, accompanied by the show "The Chocolate Factory," and the inauguration of the Municipal Nativity Scene, created by sculptor Rigoberto Camacho Pérez, in Plaza Camilo José Cela. From that moment on, the municipality will develop a festive calendar that includes a broad cultural agenda, highlighting musicals and children's shows, choral gatherings, performances by the Music School, literary presentations, various family activities, and the traditional Santa Claus parade.

The Councilor for Culture and Celebrations, Andoni Machín, emphasized that "this year's program is growing in quality and participation, with proposals ranging from culture and music to family entertainment. Our goal is for every resident and every visitor to find spaces to enjoy a diverse and enriching Christmas."

One of the most emblematic moments of Christmas in Teguise will once again be the Nativity Scene reenactment, in which the Rancho Chico and the Rancho de Pascuas de Teguise will participate, reaffirming one of the municipality's most significant traditions and a heritage landmark of the island. Likewise, the program includes the Great New Year's Eve Party in the Municipal Tent, which this year returns with live music and orchestras throughout the night, bringing back to the Villa one of the events most anticipated by the citizens

The City Council is also reinforcing its programming for young audiences with the traditional Youth Musical, which this year is titled "The Adventure of Rhythm, the Treasure of Guanapay." This local production is part of the youth project that the Youth Department has been developing for years, consolidating itself as an initiative of great importance and one of the proposals with the highest participation and following within the municipality's Christmas festivities.Within the traditional section, the calendar includes the act of Presenting the Key of the Municipality to Their Majesties the Three Wise Men of the East, a symbolic moment that marks the beginning of their official tour of Teguise and La Graciosa. As every year, Their Majesties will visit all the towns in the municipality before participating in the Great Kings' Parade, which will tour the main streets of the Historic Site of the Villa as the closing of Christmas

The Christmas Market: Economic Dynamization and Commercial Activity

The Villa Christmas Market will be held from December 5 to 8, in the plazas de la Constitución, Clavijo y Fajardo, and Maciot de Bethencourt, from 10:30 AM to 8:30 PM. The initiative, jointly organized by the Department of Commerce and the Department of Tourism, is consolidated as a key space for the economic revitalization of the municipality.

The Councilor for Commerce and Consumption, Nieves Martínez, pointed out that "the Christmas Market and its associated activities represent a fundamental opportunity to boost local trade, and this edition consolidates the town as a Christmas reference point, with an attractive and well-organized offering for all audiences." The market will feature an expanded offering of stalls and food trucks, a sustainable amusement park with free admission, and a Christmas train that will travel through the town's streets, in addition to Santa Claus's House, which will be located in the Spínola Palace and will open its doors during all four days, with hot chocolate tasting and complementary children's activities. The commercial proposal is reinforced by musical performances, family shows, and a carefully designed atmosphere to attract residents and visitors, contributing to strengthening the local economic fabric and Teguise's image as a Christmas destination.

With this set of initiatives, the Teguise City Council consolidates Christmas festivities that combine tradition, culture, youth, and economic revitalization, configuring a solid and balanced program that enhances the municipality's identity and reinforces its position as a Christmas benchmark on the island.
