Ginés González, Councilor for Animal Welfare of the Teguise City Council, was this Thursday on the program Buenos días, Lanzarote of Radio Lanzarote-Onda Cero to discuss some issues, including the death of ten cats by several dogs in Charco del Palo.

González assured that "the SEPRONA of the Civil Guard were the first to request collaboration from the City Council", although the management of the town, in addition to Teguise, also corresponds in part to Haría.

"The problem is that the events always occur in the Haría area, but the person allegedly reported for these attacks lives in Teguise, and we have already gone to see the facilities, the animals and all the investigation on our side has already been passed to SEPRONA and now I imagine it will be them who continue because the facilities are fine, we have simply identified the place, the owner and the dogs," he explained.

In addition, he pointed out that when they went to the place, "the dogs were on their plot and are vaccinated, with a chip and in good condition, but we cannot report something that happened without having seen it." Now it remains for "the unit, in collaboration with the Local Police of Haría or the investigation they do, to determine if those dogs have committed those deaths of the animals".

He also stressed that the property is very far from the center of the town and does not know if "they escaped and reached the place where the deaths allegedly took place continuously, although I think some neighbor will have videos or some photo".
