The Cleaning Department of the Arrecife City Council, led by Jacobo Lemes, will launch a broad special operation to ensure the cleanliness of the city during the San Ginés 2025 Festivities, which will be held between August 14 and 25.

The operation includes daily actions from early morning until midnight in the main celebration areas, such as the Charco de San Ginés, the Ginory Fairgrounds, the ventorrillos area, the Reducto beach, the Plaza del Almacén, the Parque Islas Canarias, and other key points. Special attention will also be paid to the spaces where sports and religious events take place, such as the Sports City, the Titerroy pavilion, the Nautical Club, and the Church of San Ginés.

To refine the operation and ensure its maximum effectiveness, coordination meetings have been held with the Deputy Mayor and Head of Festivities, Echedey Eugenio, representatives of the concessionaire company, Urbaser, and staff from the Festivities Area. These meetings have allowed coordinating schedules, cleaning routes, and specific needs according to the festive program.

The operation combines additional human and material resources to respond to the expected intense influx. According to the schedule, sweepers, scrubbers, and beach cleaning machines will be deployed, in addition to review teams in the afternoon and evening shifts to prepare the areas after each event. On different days, between two and five laborers and up to two machinery drivers will be added, reinforcing the work of the usual staff.

The Deputy Mayor and Head of Festivities, Echedey Eugenio, has pointed out that "coordination is essential for the San Ginés Festivities to take place with the highest quality in all aspects. The joint work with Cleaning and Urbaser ensures that each space is ready to welcome thousands of people every day, without the accumulation of waste tarnishing the festive atmosphere."

For his part, Jacobo Lemes has stressed that "cleaning is an absolute priority. We want both residents and visitors to enjoy these festivities in a well-kept, safe, and pleasant environment. We have designed an operation that ensures that, every morning, Arrecife dawns clean and ready to continue celebrating."
