The Deputy Mayor and Councilor for Festivities of the Arrecife City Council, Echedey Eugenio, has reached an important agreement with the Provincial Association of Fairground Industrialists of Las Palmas so that the San Ginés Festivities have for the first time two inclusive days at the fairgrounds, dedicated to people with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). The event will be on August 20 and 21 between 6:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. in the Ginory grounds.

On the 21st, it will also coincide with special prices, since both that day and the 19th will be dedicated to "Children's Day", with reduced rates.

Eugenio, who has highlighted the relevance of this agreement, emphasizes that "during the established hours on the 20th and 21st, the attractions will operate without sound or strident lights, which will allow many families to enjoy the festivities without barriers."

The Deputy Mayor thus appreciates the collaboration and sensitivity of the Fairground Association: "I want to express my recognition to the fairground operators for their willingness and empathy. Thanks to their support," he stressed.

For her part, the Councilor for Social Welfare of the Arrecife City Council, Maite Corujo, also expresses her gratitude to the fairground operators, who "have collaborated so that many minors, users of the Area, can enjoy a day of attractions at zero cost."

Corujo highlighted that "this type of initiative is essential to ensure that all minors in the municipality have access to experiences that are an essential part of childhood."

Orange Points and Sensory Vests

In the same line of work for festivities for everyone, the Department of Social Welfare will install, in collaboration with the Cabildo of Lanzarote, an orange tent at the fairgrounds. This is a safe and quiet space, specifically designed for people with ASD, which offers a controlled environment to rest, relax and enjoy without the overload of sensory stimuli.

The Orange Points, intended to offer support and accompaniment, will be installed at the entrance of the fairgrounds (Ginory grounds) on August 19, Children's Day, from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., and on August 21, Inclusive Day, also from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.

In addition, sensory vests will be distributed for people with hearing disabilities, which convert sound vibrations into tactile stimuli, allowing them to "feel" the music through the body and improving the festive experience at the concerts of Antoñito Molina (August 22) and Alejandro Fernández (August 25).
