The Coalición Canaria Group in the San Bartolomé City Council, through its spokesperson David Rocío, has expressed its "concern about the serious lack of local police personnel during the patron saint festivities, a situation that forced the Canarian Police to assume the security device."

“We want to publicly acknowledge the involvement of the Canarian Police in covering these festivities, because if it weren't for them, the municipality's security would have been totally compromised. The reality is that, due to the open confrontation between the mayor and the Local Police, there were barely two officers on duty this weekend,” denounced David Rocío.

The nationalist spokesperson recalled that "the police union has already reported incidents and infractions, especially during the past weekend, which demonstrates that the situation is unsustainable."

“The mayor's inability to reach agreements and exercise true negotiating capacity is alarming. We have been dragging the lack of personnel and operators for years, and the result is a municipality where illegal occupations proliferate, thefts increase, and infractions skyrocket without the government group providing solutions,” adds Rocío.

Coalición Canaria also denounces "the lack of transparency in matters of citizen security." “Months ago, we requested the annual report or crime report from last year and we still haven't received anything. We don't understand the reason, although we do sense it: to hide the reality that is lived in San Bartolomé,” points out the nationalist spokesperson.

From CC, they insist that "the gratitude to the Government of the Canary Islands and the Canarian Police is absolute because they have demonstrated commitment and responsibility in the face of the negligence and mismanagement of the mayor, who continues to demonstrate that he does not know how to live up to what this municipality needs.”
