The San Bartolomé City Council has taken advantage of the summer months of July and August to undertake about thirty improvement actions in the educational centers of the municipality, with the aim that the 2025/2026 school year, which will begin on September 9, has renovated, well-kept spaces adapted to their needs.

The mayor of San Bartolomé, Isidro Pérez, stressed that "these interventions are a sign of the City Council's firm commitment to education. We want both the girls and boys of the municipality, as well as the school staff, to start the course in well-kept, modern centers adapted to current needs and thus contribute to teachers being able to develop their teaching activity in better conditions."

The Councilor for Works and Services, Raúl de León, explained that "these improvement works have been carried out with municipal staff of masonry, gardening, carpentry and general services, which reflects the involvement of this municipal Administration with the educational community."

Regarding the actions carried out, in the CEIP Ajei, painting and gardening works have been carried out, in addition to enabling four new spaces for classrooms and completely renovating the sanitation of the Primary schoolyard bathrooms. In the CEIP Playa Honda, together with the painting and cleaning of the green areas, three new spaces for classrooms have been created, which will allow for better academic organization.

The CEIP Alcalde Alexis Tejera Lemes has also been the subject of improvements in painting and gardening, contributing to the setting up of the center, as have the unitary schools of the municipality that have also received attention from the San Bartolomé City Council.

In Güime, painting and gardening works have been carried out, in addition to enabling a new space for the management and an additional classroom, while in Montaña Blanca painting and gardening work has been carried out to improve its appearance and functionality. The Department of Works and Services of the San Bartolomé City Council has also carried out painting work in the two nurseries in the municipality so that these spaces are prepared for the new educational season.

The City Council emphasizes that all these actions have been carried out with its own staff from the different municipal services, which has meant a great organizational and human effort. The works continue these days, since the new school year will begin on September 9 and the students will return to the classrooms in renovated facilities and in better conditions.
