The San Bartolomé City Council has once again put out to tender the works for the urban intervention project on Arrecife street and the surroundings of Casa Ajei, a strategic action that will allow the transformation of one of the main accesses to the historic center of the municipality and improve the quality of public space for residents and visitors.
The intervention includes an investment of 855,832.44 euros and an execution period of eight months, with the aim of comprehensively renovating this area through actions aimed at improving accessibility, pedestrian mobility, road safety, paving, urban image, and the functionality of the environment.
In addition to the planned urban remodeling, the project will allow for the renewal of existing underground infrastructures, favoring a comprehensive intervention that will contribute to modernizing this area of the municipality and ensuring better functioning of services.
The mayor of San Bartolomé, Isidro Pérez, highlights that "this action represents a very important step within our strategy of continuous improvement of public spaces. We are talking about one of the main entrances to the historic center and the surroundings of one of the most representative heritage buildings in the municipality, so we want to offer a more accessible, safe, modern space that is in line with the value represented by Casa Ajei".
Likewise, the mayor adds that "we continue to advance in projects that improve the quality of life of our residents and that, at the same time, contribute to beautifying the municipality and reinforcing its attractiveness for those who visit us".
For her part, the Councilor for Urban Planning, Marlene Romero, explains that "the project has been conceived from an integral perspective, acting both on the surface and on the existing infrastructures, to achieve a more functional, accessible public space prepared to respond to the current needs of the municipality".
The councilor also points out that "this intervention will allow for the reorganization of the urban environment, the improvement of pedestrian routes, the increase of safety, and the offering of a renewed image of one of the spaces with the greatest heritage and cultural value in San Bartolomé, integrating the action within the modernization process that we are developing in different parts of the municipality".
The performance is part of the commitment of the San Bartolomé City Council with urban regeneration and the improvement of public spaces, as well as to enhance the outstanding heritage and architectural legacy of the municipality, betting on projects that favor greater urban quality, more sustainable mobility, and better integration of historical heritage within the development of the municipality.
