Gold Medal Award to Civil Protection of San Bartolomé

Last Friday, July 8, the solemn ceremony of awarding the “Medal of the San Bartolomé City Council, in the gold category” to the Volunteer Corps of Civil Protection of San Bartolomé took place at 8:30 p.m. at the San Bartolomé Theater.

The delivery of this insignia aims to honor all the people who have been part of the Volunteer Corps of Civil Protection of San Bartolomé, from its creation to the present, for the selfless work they do in order to maximize the safety of neighbors when requested.

The mayor of the San Bartolomé City Council, Isidro Pérez, only had words of gratitude “for the indispensable work they do supporting each of the activities carried out by the City Council and that help the inhabitants of the municipality feel that they are in good hands.”

This recognition from the San Bartolomé City Council rewards special merits, outstanding benefits or extraordinary services performed for the benefit of the municipality's population. The Security Councilor of the Consistory, Mamadou Yero Sy Cisse, wanted to reiterate his congratulations and gratitude to Civil Protection for their great work.

It is a municipal distinction, created to reward the merits and distinctions that concur in personalities, entities or groups, both national and foreign, for services rendered for the benefit or honor of the municipality that on this occasion and with total merit, fell to the Volunteer Corps of Civil Protection in San Bartolomé.

The event also featured musical performances by tenor Manuel Gómez together with pianist Javier Díaz and violinist Iya Zhmaeva and dance by dancer Reinier Alfonso and dancers Haila and Julia who entertained the audience at the presentation of this well-deserved award.
