The San Bartolomé City Council has made effective the aid for transportation and accommodation for students in the municipality, amounting to 280,300 euros.

A total of 353 students from the municipality have been the beneficiaries and will receive around 1,000 euros each, thus fulfilling the commitment established by the municipal government group to increase this aid.

The mayor, Isidro Pérez, emphasizes that the payment of this aid is great news for the municipality since “from the Consistory we are aware of the difficulties that families with students have and we believe that this aid can serve as a reinforcement for the development of their studies”.

“These aids fulfill the commitment by the San Bartolomé City Council to give all possible support to the students of the municipality, increasing the amount of aid gradually until doubling it”, adds Pérez.

For her part, the councilor Alma María González points out that "these scholarships correspond to the past year and are intended for those students who are studying Baccalaureate, training cycles and university studies, as long as they are not taught on the island or within the municipality".
