San Bartolomé approves a biennial strategic subsidy plan for 1.7 million euros

The San Bartolomé City Council has approved a biennial strategic subsidy plan, which includes six main lines, with an amount that amounts to a total of 1,727,941 euros.

From the Consistory they point out that the item of the biennial strategic subsidy plan has been increased, which has been prepared with the participation of all areas of the City Council. "This plan is established for the period 2022-2024, and will be reported on in the Municipal Council for Coexistence and Social Development of the municipality of San Bartolomé,” says the Councilor for Economy, Antonio Rocío.

“Through the Strategic Subsidy Plan, we promote and enhance the structured civil society of our municipality in the different areas of municipal management, and we promote social inclusion through financial aid to those neighbors who are in certain situations of social vulnerability, in defense of the principle of equal opportunities,” says the mayor of San Bartolomé, Isidro Pérez.

Six main lines to allocate the 1.7 million euros

From the City Council they affirm that "the 1.7 million euros allocated to this biennial plan are distributed in six main lines."

One of them is destined to “Social Action”, with support for entities and associations that offer Social Services and Women, in matters of equality. The amount for this item amounts to 266,500 euros.

The second item, with an amount of 71,000 euros, is destined to "Citizen Participation, Youth, Promotion of Leisure, Festivities and Free Time". In addition, the City Council allocates 292,500 euros to the promotion of sports and sports facilities, whose purpose is to “promote and develop sports, by offering the entire citizenry the possibility of satisfying their sports demands and encouraging a healthy practice as a means of improving the quality of life through collaboration with sports entities and federations”.

The San Bartolomé City Council has indicated that the fourth main line is the one that corresponds to the promotion of "Education, Protection of Heritage and Cultural Dynamization", with an amount of 299,250 euros. From the Consistory they intend with this item to “support, disseminate and promote any cultural and educational action complementary to the regulated system, favoring cooperation with cultural and educational groups that collaborate with the City Council”. They also emphasize that it also aims to promote “different artistic disciplines such as music (in all its genres), theater, cinema, literature, painting, photography, etc., collaborating with the execution of activities that have a cultural impact on the municipality”.

In addition, from the City Council they highlight that within this item is the aid to finance the transportation and accommodation expenses of the students of the municipality, which in this edition “they will be able to reach 1,000 euros those who combine the two aids”.

The San Bartolomé City Council grants a fifth item to the "Promotion and Economic Promotion of Commerce, Rural Development, Health, Citizen Security and Public Transport", with an amount of 34,200 euros.

Finally, the Consistory allocates 764,491 euros to the "promotion of the rehabilitation of privately owned homes", within the program to combat the depopulation of the rural environment of the Canary Islands housing plan 2020-2025.

From the City Council they explain that this amount is endowed for the rehabilitation or adaptation of privately owned homes “to the minimum conditions of habitability, energy consumption savings, structural elements and all those works necessary for the proper maintenance of the same”.
