Samuel Martín officially announces his candidacy for the Island Secretariat of the Canary Coalition in Lanzarote and La Graciosa, after the decision of Migdalia Machín and Echedey Eugenio not to run for re-election.
Martín wanted to start by publicly thanking Migdalia and Echedey for their work and dedication, whom he has described as "fundamental pillars" for the growth and consolidation of the nationalist project on the islands. "They leave us with a strong organization, with a vision for the future, and a legacy based on responsibility and constant commitment to the militancy," he says.
Following the decision of the current island leaders, Samuel Martín, current councilor and spokesperson for the Canary Coalition in the Island Council of Lanzarote and La Graciosa, announces that he will begin a dialogue process with the local committees and with the militancy, in order to build a collective project that responds to the challenges of the next three years.
Martín's proposal is based on a team of men and women that combines experience and youth, and that seeks to reinforce the role of the Canary Coalition as a solid political force, close to and committed to the interests of Lanzarote and La Graciosa.
The candidate also wants to emphasize that his initiative is not against any other candidacy, in reference to his colleague Pedro San Ginés, who has also announced his intention to compete in the process. "Pedro has all my respect and recognition for his work in the organization. I am convinced that we both share the common goal of building the best for our party and that we will maintain a dialogue based on respect and unity," he declares.
Samuel Martín's candidacy will be officially presented in the coming days, once the dialogue process with the militancy is completed, and will be focused on strengthening the party's structure, promoting generational change and giving continuity to a line of work based on closeness, respect and political responsibility.
