The Local Police of Teguise and the Vías y Obras area of the Teguise City Council are working on the removal of electric scooters in different parts of Costa Teguise after detecting activity linked to their exploitation without the corresponding municipal authorization to operate in the municipality.

These actions are part of the work carried out by the council to guarantee compliance with municipal regulations, "reinforce road safety and preserve order and the proper use of public spaces", especially in areas with high attendance and pedestrian traffic.

The action is being carried out after monitoring by the Local Police and the detection of these vehicles in different streets and public spaces of the tourist center. The City Council emphasizes that the use of new forms of mobility must be developed within the established regulatory framework and under the corresponding authorizations, guaranteeing adequate coexistence between pedestrians, residents, and users.

The mayor of Teguise, Olivia Duque, highlighted that “from the City Council we continue working to guarantee safe and orderly public spaces, acting responsibly and ensuring compliance with the rules that allow for adequate coexistence and correct use of common space”.

For his part, the councilor for Local Police, Ginés González, pointed out that “the objective is not to prevent new forms of mobility, but to ensure that any activity is carried out under the corresponding criteria and authorizations, guaranteeing safety and respect for the established rules in the municipality”.

The Teguise City Council has reported that it is carrying out monitoring and inspection work within its powers, maintaining its commitment to safety, compliance with regulations, and the proper use of the municipality's public spaces.
