Since this week, the streets surrounding the commercial and industrial area of Puerto de Naos have new asphalt pavement. The mayor of Arrecife, Yonathan de León, has promoted improvements in these streets after 25 years without municipal works.
The resurfacing works have been carried out by the Department of Public Works of the capital's City Council.
In a meeting that the mayor of Arrecife held last summer with industrialists and merchants from this area of the capital of Lanzarote, he had guaranteed that the Municipal Resurfacing Plan would reach these streets where workshops, refrigerators and naval industries are located with heavy machinery for their respective activities.
Mayor Yonathan de León has been directly supervising these asphalt pavement renovation works, carried out by the construction company awarded the tender promoted in this mandate for the maintenance of the road surface.
From these days, Hipólito Frías Street, which connects the industrial area of Puerto de Naos and the fishing district of Valterra, has a different look, and with a safe surface.
The mayor recalled that the Department of Public Works has a Resurfacing Plan underway to improve the surface in 150 streets throughout the municipality. This December, work has been carried out on the streets of the Argana Baja and Valterra neighborhoods, which have been joined by these improvements in Puerto de Naos, as an extension to the work carried out around the Fishing School in the summer of last year 2023.
