The Public Works area of the Cabildo of Lanzarote, directed by Vice President Jacobo Medina, has awarded the drafting of the project for the landscape improvement of Campoamor Avenue, the road that connects Arrecife and Tahíche.

"We are investing nearly 50,000 euros in this project that will beautify and enhance one of the busiest roads on the island," said Vice President Jacobo Medina, who details that in addition to native and adapted vegetation, "we plan to introduce modern street furniture, including trash cans and benches, that adapts to the chromatic palette of the various elements of the island, in order to have the least possible visual impact and generate a constant dialogue with the plant proposal."

According to a press release sent this Thursday by the Area, "this project will address diversity, with universal accessibility as a fundamental pillar, avoiding all types of architectural barriers and ensuring that all users, regardless of their age or physical ability, can fully enjoy the inclusive space created."

Medina also details that "it is proposed to increase the density of native and adapted vegetation, composing gardens of a 'natural' appearance, avoiding the repetitive design of species and increasing the diversity of the same, among other composition strategies."

"We continue to bet on improving our image, recovering our essence and our idiosyncrasy, so that both residents and tourists feel proud and are excited to see how beautiful our roads are," Medina pointed out.

The Public Works area thus continues with the plan to rehabilitate and improve the landscape of the island's roads, also awarding the landscape improvement of the airport environment in recent weeks.
