The civic center of Costa Teguise was the place chosen for the start of the new political formation, Primero Teguise, in an assembly hall that exceeded the expected capacity, with more than a hundred people accompanying the members of the new political party.

This presentation included a review of the constitution work by the promoters and board of directors, as well as an acknowledgment of the work of all the members of the new political formation in the municipality, with the participation of its president Jonás Álvarez.

Álvarez began his speech by saying that "he is convinced that political parties should belong to the people, and it is the people who decide where each politician should be, in addition to remembering that "...I have given a clear example of having put Teguise above everything else, above political impositions or personal squabbles that have nothing to do with the improvement of our municipality..."

Jonás Álvarez explained that Primero Teguise was created with the hope of changing things, both in politics and in the municipality, with the clear conviction that it is necessary to restore the people's enthusiasm for participating in political life and in the decisions that are made in the administrations themselves, which should improve the lives of their residents.

Jonás Álvarez, Primero Teguise

During his speech, Jonás Álvarez explained that "Primero Teguise was created to respond to the real day-to-day problems of the residents. With the sole and fundamental objective of listening, proposing and resolving the problems of the residents of the municipality of Teguise effectively and quickly."

For the president of Primero Teguise, "the municipality lacks politicians who defend them with courage, who do not shrink or kneel before anything, both to improve the 24 population centers and to demand improvements and place Teguise in the place it should never have lost, as one of the best municipalities in the Canary Islands."

The presentation of Primero Teguise ended with the gratitude of its president to all the members of the formation for their work and dedication to the new municipal project, as well as thanking the attendees and residents who encourage them to continue, "I guarantee that we will give our all for our municipality, because we are clear that Teguise comes first," Álvarez concluded.
