San Bartolomé bets on the celebration of Burger Fest Canarias, a pioneering gastronomic event in the islands that will bring together, on September 18 and 19, in the Playa Honda Urban Park, some of the best gastronomic proposals specializing in hamburgers from the Canary Islands.
The initiative is integrated within the program of the patron saint festivities of Playa Honda and is born with the objective of turning the municipality into a meeting point for gastronomy lovers, offering a different experience around one of the products that has undergone the greatest evolution in recent years.
For two days, the public will be able to enjoy a wide representation of gastronomic proposals from different parts of the Canary Islands, with hamburgers made under different concepts, styles, and combinations, highlighting the quality, innovation, and personality of each participating establishment.
The mayor of San Bartolomé, Isidro Pérez, emphasizes that “with Burger Fest Canarias we want to continue incorporating new proposals into the Playa Honda program and bet on events capable of attracting the public, generating activity, and offering different experiences to our neighbors”.
Pérez points out that “San Bartolomé is a dynamic municipality and we want our public spaces to also be the scene of initiatives that combine leisure, gastronomy, and participation. This festival also allows us to project Playa Honda and our municipality as a place capable of hosting events of interest for the entire island”.
One of the great attractions of Burger Fest Canarias will be precisely the participation of those who come to the Playa Honda Urban Park. Attendees will be able to taste the different proposals and vote to decide which is, in their opinion, the best hamburger in the Canary Islands, thus becoming protagonists of the choice.
The councilor for Commerce, Alma González, underlines that “this festival represents an opportunity to give visibility to the talent and work that exists behind many of the gastronomic proposals we have in the Canary Islands”.
“We want Burger Fest Canarias to also be a showcase for the participating establishments, so they can show their products, connect with new audiences, and share space with other companies in the sector. At the same time, the arrival of visitors will contribute to generating movement in Playa Honda and its commercial and hospitality sector,” adds González.
But the gastronomy will only be part of the programming. The Playa Honda Urban Park will be transformed throughout the weekend into a space for leisure and entertainment for all audiences, with proposals for dynamization, workshops, activities, and musical performances throughout the two days.
The musical programming will feature, among other proposals, performances by Las Mellizas, Renzzo El Selector, Fran Bernal, Los Verbenas, and Checha Tambo DJ, who will set the rhythm for a weekend designed for enjoyment with family, friends, and as a couple.
The Councilor for Celebrations, Estefanía Luzardo, explains that "we wanted the Playa Honda festivals to also incorporate different proposals, capable of bringing together diverse audiences and offering new ways to enjoy our celebrations."
"Burger Fest Canarias allows us to expand the festival programming with an activity that combines gastronomy, music, entertainment, and participation. We want families, young people, couples, and groups of friends to find a space in Playa Honda to enjoy together throughout the weekend," points out Luzardo.
The San Bartolomé City Council highlights that the celebration of Burger Fest Canarias represents a commitment to raising the level of gastronomic festivals held in the Canary Islands, incorporating a leisure proposal that combines gastronomy, culture, music, and citizen participation.
The event also aims to generate a space for promotion and visibility for participating establishments and to contribute to the commercial and economic dynamization of Playa Honda, attracting both residents and visitors from other parts of Lanzarote.
The San Bartolomé City Council invites all citizens to enjoy this new proposal integrated into the patron saint festivals of Playa Honda on September 18 and 19, and to actively participate in the election of the best hamburger in the Canary Islands.
