The San Bartolomé City Council informs of the start of the security, surveillance and lifeguard service on the beaches of Guacimeta and Juan El Curita, both in Playa Honda, starting this Saturday.
This service, which will remain until October 31, will contract two qualified lifeguards, from Monday to Sunday, from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
The mayor of San Bartolomé, Isidro Pérez, has pointed out that, with the end of the school year and the increase in activity on the town's beaches, "it is of great importance to guarantee the safety of the neighbors, young and old, so that they can enjoy our beaches with the greatest possible tranquility."
In this regard, he has invited citizens to do so "always asking that they take extreme security measures and heed warnings."
The Councilor for Security, Mamadou Yero Sy Cisse, has added that, in order to carry out this surveillance, "we have the support of the Lanzarote Security and Emergency Consortium, which covers the cost of the service that the entity Rescates y Emergencias del Norte will offer and that has the necessary means to guarantee security on our beaches, such as an ambulance, inflatable boat, sanitary material, radios, defibrillator, etc."
Along with this service, to ensure that people with reduced mobility can enjoy the sun and the beach in equal conditions and guaranteeing its use autonomously, the amphibious chair service is offered on Guacimeta beach, and the service must be requested 48 hours in advance, calling 604189100 in advance. The adapted services are for the exclusive use of people with disabilities and elderly people with difficulty in moving.
